June Tennis Tip – Mastering Volleys Under Pressure
If you're moving into the net, don’t freeze when the ball’s low. Try this:
✔ Quick stop — feet apart
✔ Racket in front (chest-height or slightly lower)
✔ Use soft hands — guide the ball, don’t smack it
✔ Split-step the moment your opponent strikes
🎯 Practise with intent and control — not panic.
Home Tennis Challenge – Control Wall Drill
A simple but powerful exercise:
Find a flat wall
Draw a line or place tape as a target
Hit 20 forehands and 20 backhands above the line
Want a challenge? Only count the ones that land in your target zone.
Fun Fact of the Month
💥 The fastest women’s serve ever recorded was 136.7 mph (220 km/h) by Sabine Lisicki in 2014 — faster than most men's first serves!
Try returning that one...
